Already Registered? How to Retrieve and Reuse Your Fuel QR Code in 2026

With the official return of the National Fuel Pass system in Sri Lanka this March 2026, many vehicle owners are wondering if they need to register again. If you already registered your vehicle during the previous rollout, you do not need a new registration. Your data is already in the system.

This guide will show you exactly how to log in, retrieve your QR code, and check your 2026 fuel quota.

If your vehicle and mobile number remain the same as your previous registration, follow these steps to get your QR code:

1. Access the Official Portal

Go to the only authorized website: fuelpass.gov.lk.

2. Use the “Vehicle Login” Option

On the homepage, look for the “Vehicle Login” button. Do not click “Register” if you have already done so in the past.

3. Enter Your Registered Details

To access your profile, you will need:

  • Your Vehicle Number (e.g., WP ABC-1234)
  • The Mobile Number used during the initial registration.
  • Your NIC / Passport Number.

4. Download and Save

Once logged in, your personalized QR code will be displayed.

  • Tip: Take a high-quality screenshot or download the PDF.
  • Recommendation: Keep a printed copy in your vehicle’s dashboard in case your phone battery dies or you have no signal at the fuel station.

What if You Lost Your Registered SIM Card?

If you no longer have access to the mobile number you used to register, do not panic.

  • Visit the “Update Profile” section on the official website.
  • Follow the prompts to verify your identity via your NIC and vehicle registration (CR) details to link a new mobile number.

How to Check Your 2026 Weekly Balance

Existing users can quickly check how many litres they have left for the week using the SMS method.

Send an SMS with the following format:

Fuel <space> Bal <space> Vehicle Number

Send to: 0766220000

Important Reminders for 2026

  • Quota Refresh: Your quota resets every Sunday at Midnight.
  • Official Site Only: Never enter your NIC or vehicle details on any site other than fuelpass.gov.lk.
  • No Registration Fee: Accessing your existing QR code is completely free of charge
